Design To Image: Effortlessly Convert Your Designs
Here’s the scoop. Canva has introduced an amazing tool in their app arsenal that is a MUST for anyone creating designs- so yep this is for YOU!
This app, known simply as “Design to Image,” is a game-changer because it simplifies how you convert and use your designs across different projects. Imagine wanting to use your design as an image but dreading the thought of downloading and re-uploading files.
Well, fret no more! This app will do it for you. Now the only thing I don't like is at this moment you can only do one image at a time, keeping my fingers crossed that will change in the future.
I use this app when I am creating mockups for my products. However, there are probably 1001 other ways to use this cool app so in the comments let me know what you use this for or what you want to use Design to Image for in the future.
Here are the highlights of the App:
- Canva's “Design to Image” tool simplifies converting and using designs for various projects.
- It streamlines the process of turning designs into images without the hassle of downloading and re-uploading files.
- The tool currently allows converting one image at a time, but there's hope for future updates.
- Ideal for creating mockups for products, but versatile for countless other creative purposes.
How Does It Work?
Using this app is as simple as pie. Here’s a quick breakdown:
- Locate the App: First things first, on your desktop version of Canva (sorry, phone users – I haven’t tested it there yet!), head over to the left side and click on ‘Apps’.
- Search ‘Design to Image’: Among the list of apps, find and click on ‘Design to Image’. What this app does is magically convert your design into an image file right within Canva. No more downloading and re-uploading hassles!
- Select Your Design: Pick the design you want to convert. Remember, you can only convert one page at a time, which keeps things super straightforward.
- Customize Your Output: You can choose the type of the image, decide if you want a transparent background, and even compress the image if necessary.
- Export and Reuse: Once you hit convert, the image is automatically saved to your Canva uploads. You can then use these images in new designs or add them to existing ones.
Creating Mockups Has Never Been Easier
Now, let’s put this tool to the test by creating a mockup, shall we? After converting your chosen designs to images, just head over to the ‘Home’ and create a new design – let’s say, a Facebook post (or whatever suits your project).
Creating mockups for digital products has a ton of benefits! Here are some compelling reasons why:
- Visual Appeal: Mockups transform basic digital products into visually appealing graphics. This makes them more attractive and understandable to potential customers.
- Context and Application: They help demonstrate how the product can be used in real-life scenarios, which helps potential buyers visualize themselves using the product.
- Enhance Credibility: Professional-looking mockups enhance the perceived value and credibility of your digital products. They signal to customers that you are serious about quality.
- Marketing and Promotion: Mockups are great for marketing. They can be used in advertisements, social media posts, and online storefronts to grab attention and communicate the value of your product quickly.
- Feedback and Testing: By creating mockups, you can gather feedback on your product’s design and usability before it goes into final production, saving time and resources.
- Comparison: It allows you to create a variety of options for your product's design, which can be compared side by side to determine which version resonates best with your audience.
- Boost Sales: Attractive and clear mockups can significantly boost sales by providing potential customers with a clear idea of what they are buying, reducing uncertainty and leading to quicker purchasing decisions.
Using mockups effectively can really make your digital products stand out and appeal strongly to your target audience. Okay back to creating the mockup, just wanted to give you some reasons WHY we create mockups.
Quick Mockup Creation:
- Search for Mockups: In the design tab, type ‘mockup’. Canva offers a variety of mockup templates, so just pick one that aligns with your design.
- Access Your Images: Navigate to your uploads, and bam! Your images are already there, waiting to be used.
- Drag and Drop: Simply drag your newly created image file into the mockup template. And just like that, you've created a professional-looking mockup without the usual hassle.
